Angel Sanctuary

Story of this anime is based on manga, and it's more like an advert for the first one, but it's still a quite good introduction. Setsuna, normal, very handsome teenager has a little problem... he is in love with his own sister. Not just brother-sister type of love, but a real one. Meanwhile he is not reacting on the efforts of weird creatures that are trying to tell him something very important, but when he's precious sister is in danger he finally listens to what they have to say and he discover who he really is.They tell the whole story were angels are not so pure as everyone thinks.What is worse, Setsuna is a reincarnation of a fallen angel, who declares an official war against gods - Alexiel. From this moment he landed in the complex war between heaven and hell.

What Do I think about Angel Sanctuary ?

+ overall dark and mysterious world

+ interesting story

+ quoite interesting( but still simplified comprae to manga) and handsome characters

- for some people "love" between brother and sister might look disgusting

- a lot of story is packed in not enough amount of episodes, so there is too many different aspects moved at once

- anime is just an advert for the manga , so it cuts in some moment, living the viewer without many answers

Utawarerumono

Badly injured guy is waking up with amnesia in some strange house, inbetween some strange people. What's wore he has some weird mask on his face, which he can't take off. He is soon accepet into the village and after that ... well I can't say anything else without unfolding the storyline. Despite the fact that most of the people in this anime has a weird ears which might look like it's an anime for kids - the action can be very brutal and unnexpected. The story evolves with the episodes from the fantasy adventure type to a big epic battles between different countries.

 

What Do I think about Utawarerumono ?

+ very well done hybrid of different genres

+ a lot of characters with interesting personalities (everyone will find some fav char for himself)

+funny moments where not just there to take some pressure from dramatic fight after fight, but mostly they were really enjoyable

- anime looks a little bit dol when we are talking about dramatic scenes ( mostly the end) , to be honest it's not dramatic at all

- the geography of the world is very poor, we don't know where all of those battles are being fought and what impact it has on the whole world

- what became of the main character happened waaaay to fast ( from almost dead man to ... yea i don't wanna spoil)

s-CRY-ed

Hundred years ago there was a big catastrophe in Japan, which causes appearing of a new island. After many years the country was able to rebuilt itself,  but something's changed. People, survivors of the cataclysm, which lived on this island were able to use weird powers called Alter. Quickly, new special organisation called HOLY is created in order to get rid of them, but the locals won't live their homeland that easy. Every story needs a hero and s-CRY-ed is no different. Kazuma, arrogant and very aggresive Alter-user will try to save his friends and the place where he was born - will he be able to do it ?

What do I think about s-CRY-ed ?

+ non- stop action
+ the fact , that every character can die makes it very interesting
+ we can see that some of the main characters are changing during the story(behaviour, personality), some of them even few times.

-  most of alter user's powers ( their power allows them to summon some giant mech or other pokemon to fight for them) and the fact that if the anime would be much darker it would be much more interesting
- soldiers from HOLY are basically just a background ( are they too stupid to get the idea of shooting the one who summoned their Alter( which looks like would be much easier) rather than trying to kill what was summoned?
- main character has only few "moves" which he uses all the time

Elfen Lied

Lucy, powerful and very dangerous Diclonius is escaping from experimenting facility, killing a lot of people on the way. However she got injured, and because of that she develops a second, child like personality. Later on she is found by two locals, which have no idea who she really is.A Great,sad story about love and acceptation with hectoliters of blood on the screen.

What do I think about Elfen Lied ?

+ drama showing real human emotions in a very violent way(characters are not so sweet as they look like
+ interesting opening
+ elfen lied has something from our real world, unfair and cruel

- incredibly brutal (some people might find it way too brutal, others will find it as a plus)
- some reactions of the characters in certain situations
- moment with a puppy ? ;P
